Lackner//Buckingham, in cooperation with Labrador Records, presents the Acid House Kings enhanced musical experience for the iPad, "Music Sounds Better With You".
App developers Lackner//Buckingham, remember the days when bringing home the latest record from your favorite band had a real sense of discovery. The cover, liner notes, posters, postcards -- you never knew what was going to be inside when you peeled off the cellophane. Their goal for this immersive, interactive album experience is to bring back that same feeling of discovery, using the latest combination of interactive technology and unique mobility that only the iPad has to offer. Plug in, sit back and enjoy the music. It sounds better with you. Anywhere.
Using the iPad’s native functionality you can change the album cover image simply by tilting or rotating the device. Anyone remember the original "Satanic Majesties Request" cover? We do. You can also listen to not only the original 10 tracks, but 6 remixed bonus tracks as well -- all in a custom player with large band member images and lyrics provided. Simply swipe the image to advance to the next song (or use the built in player controls). The Bio section allows you to slide the musicians back-and-forth by tilting the device. Simply tap one of the figures to get a complete, in-depth bio with little known trivia on each band member. Browse the gallery of images as you would at your own coffee table, dragging them around to reorder them, simply tap twice to enlarge. There is an aggregated news feed from Twitter, and photos pulled from the Acid House Kings Facebook profile folder. The Video section includes the two official videos from the album, and will be updated with new videos when available. There is a Karaoke section that allows you to sing along with each song and record your own vocals, alone or with friends. Finally, there is a section featuring the band’s label (Labrador Records) where you can nab the latest compilation record "Stockholm Belongs To Us" for free! You can also rotate the device in several of the sections for additional content or helpful hints. If you ever get stuck just look for the elusive penguin.
Throughout this stunning app you'll see the photography of renowned Swedish fashion photographer, Henrik Halvarsson.
