Over the years, the CTBTO’s Spectrum has become an acknowledged and widely distributed publication in the field of nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation. Spectrum profiles key issues and aspects of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT) as well as verification highlights and the use of CTBT monitoring data for disaster mitigation purposes, such as tsunami warnings. A number of prominent international figures including heads of state, foreign ministers, senior political analysts and scientists have written articles for Spectrum.



The Preparatory Commission for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO) was set up in 1996. The CTBTO is an international organization with its headquarters in Vienna, Austria. It is tasked with building up the verification regime of the CTBT, which bans all nuclear explosions, and promoting the Treaty's universality.



This iPad edition includes all of the content from the print magazine, plus interactive slideshows and Treaty signature/ratification maps. CTBTO Spectrum is distributed for free via the Apple Newsstand.
