| About Custom View: | |||||||||||||||||
Custom View is a new application for organization and playback of video clips on your iPad geared for sales presentations and grouping by project or themes.
Videos are added via iTunes file sharing. Connect the iPad to your computer, then drag and drop user created clips onto the Custom View app. Then launch the app and create your own Groups. Think of these as folders in which to organize your presentations. They may represent specific clients, products, projects, events, etc. Individual videos may be assigned to as many Groups as you wish. Just select from the ‘All Videos’ area and drag into the selected Group. Imported videos may then be organized into a sequence within a Group. Each Group may be chosen to be hidden or visible upon next launch. If more than one Group is to be displayed, individual buttons for each will appear across the center tab in the Videos view. You can also customize the splash screen image; add a small company logo that will be continuously displayed; customize a default e-mail message; and link a PDF. So let’s say you'll be showing Client A his footage this morning, but you don't want him to see what you shot for others or other personal movies on your iPad. Simply assign the clips to Client A's Group, uncheck any other Groups you may have setup within Custom View, and when you open the app in front of him it will only show Client A’s footage. You can even add his company’s logo as the splash screen, but have your company logo displayed discreetly at all times during the presentation. If you’re a salesperson at a tradeshow and someone has a specific product question, you can pop open the detailed specification sheet PDF at any time during a product presentation. You can immediately e-mail a follow-up message containing product links to the prospect at the end of the presentation with just a couple clicks. As the administrator of Custom View, you can adjust settings Group assignments, PDF attachments, sequence of clips, default e-mail messages, etc. at any time. But once it's been set to view only certain Groups, when the application is next launched only those videos will be displayed. You can jump to any clip in the Group during playback by scrolling the thumbs left to right, then double-click or press the Play button to open the full screen player. Typical player controls auto-hide after a few seconds, or simply touch the video screen area to close them. Custom View’s player also features a ‘Next Video’ button to go to the next clip without having to exit to the thumbnail view. |
