I see myself as a visual communicator. Pictures and films are not worth anything if people don't get the chance to see them. Nothing is more inspiring than sharing my work and telling a story. The story how I see it. I guess you can call me a visual exhibitionist....
Producing images for print are great, but you are limited by what you can get in to an article, a campaign, or a book. You always have to find a middle line.
Computers and social media are great, but there is also a lot of limits.
Scanout Magazine was also launched as a PDF type document a few years back. We filled it with content that we wanted to make, and thought was cool. We hoped that others would also like it. Each issue contains just one article, and the visual aspect is the most important element to telling the story. It can be on pretty much any subject, but mostly within lifestyle and sports.
The few Scanout Magazines we made were downloaded hundreds of thousands of times. And still it was limited by what we could fit in a regular PDF.
I have never had anything that felt so right until I held an iPad for the first time in my life. Its like holding a book or a magazine, but you can get so much more. You can read it offline, when ever it suits you.
It was only natural that we also went that way with Scanout Magazine. I'm very proud to show you the Scanout Magazine for the first time as an application. It contains more than 65 pictures, with galleries for each of them. We have also added soundtracks to the pictures so that when you see the galleries, you can hear someone tell you the story behind some the photos. You will also find short film features to give you and even broader understanding and background to the story.
We hope you like it....
