Chapter 360 - 353: What Face Do I Have to Tell My Family My Grievances?

"Then you definitely can’t tell her the truth now!" Jenna grew anxious again. "You two just made things official. Your relationship is still very new. Plus, you were still lying to her yesterday, and now you’re suddenly going to tell her it was all fake? That you’ve been lying to her this whole time?

You’re giving her no time to prepare for this, how could she possibly accept it? What if, in her anger, she actually demands a divorce?"

Seth hesitated. He asked uncertainly, "Sis, do you really think she’ll want to divorce me if I tell her now?"

"Well, if it were me, I’d definitely be demanding a divorce!" Jenna shrugged.

"Then what should I do now?"

He had always been resolute and decisive, but now, for the first time in his life, Seth felt completely helpless.

Jenna didn’t answer right away, apparently thinking of a solution. After a moment, she said, "How about this: I’ll take Cherie back to the U.S.A. immediately and we’ll lay low for a while. Once your relationship with Clara is more stable—to the point where she won’t blame you after finding out the truth—I’ll bring Cherie back."

She had secretly brought Cherie back with her. After Carter Shaw found out she’d returned, he’d been calling non-stop, urging her to come back. He even threatened to fly over and drag her back himself if she didn’t return soon.

’I can use this as an excuse to go back. Besides, I’m dying to hear his explanation about that woman in his office. I need to know what’s really going on between them!’

"Jenna, you really don’t have to..." Seeing that his sister and Cherie would have to go into hiding because of him, Seth couldn’t bear the thought.

But before he could finish, Jenna cut him off. "Seth, don’t say another word. I’ve been back for a while now; it’s about time I went back anyway. If I don’t, Carter Shaw is going to come over and drag me back himself."

At the mention of Carter Shaw, Seth remembered asking her a few times if she was having problems with him. Otherwise, why would she have suddenly come back alone with Cherie? But every time, his sister had just brushed him off with a vague answer.

"Jenna, are you and Carter Shaw... doing okay?" Seth asked again.

"We’re fine. What problems could we have?" Jenna brushed it off again before changing the subject. "Alright, Seth, I’m hanging up now. Remember, whatever you do, don’t just suddenly tell Clara the truth."

After saying that, she quickly hung up, put her phone in the console compartment, and let out a long breath.

’It wasn’t that she wanted to hide things from her brother and her family. She just felt that Carter Shaw was her choice. Back then, even when her father threatened to disown her if she insisted on being with him, she had still eloped with Carter without a second thought.’

’If Carter really was cheating on her with another woman now, he was the man she had chosen. She had to bear all the consequences herself.’

’How could she possibly face her family and complain about her suffering?’

After Jenna hung up, Seth stood there for a long while before picking up his phone again and dialing Clara Grant’s number.

When Clara Grant answered the phone, she was still wondering if she had misjudged him, so her tone sounded a bit distracted.

Hearing her tone, Seth’s heart skipped a beat. "Is something wrong?" he asked tentatively.

Clara snapped out of it and said with a laugh, "Oh, it’s nothing. I’m just a little tired from shopping."

Seth’s voice immediately softened. "Didn’t I tell you to sit down and rest if you get tired?"

"I know, I know." Clara’s voice was filled with happiness. "Sarah and I are at a drink shop right now."

Hearing this, Seth grew anxious. "You’re still on your period. You can’t be having cold drinks! It’s not good for you."
