Chapter 609: Dahlia Stole The Sky
Chapter 609: Dahlia Stole The Sky
After Kaelvar’s match ended, the arena staff quickly began preparing the battlefield for the second quarterfinal match.
Inside the private viewing room, Dahlia finally stood up.
Garion looked at her and grinned. "Your turn."
Dahlia cracked her neck softly. "Yeah."
Rovak laughed loudly from the side. "Don’t lose, little dragon!"
Dahlia glanced back at him with a smirk. "Worry about your own match later."
Then she turned and walked out of the room.
A few minutes later, the giant holographic screen above the arena lit up again.
[Quarterfinals - Second Match]
[Dahlia Draconia]
[Representative: God Gym]
[VS]
[Seraphine Vale]
[Spirit Wing Race]
The crowd immediately erupted.
"Dahlia’s match!"
"She’s fighting Seraphine!"
"Ground power against aerial control!"
"This should be good!"
Dahlia stepped into the arena with both hands behind her head, looking completely relaxed.
On the opposite side, Seraphine Vale descended lightly from the air.
She had soft white wings behind her back, pale golden hair, and calm blue eyes.
Her entire presence felt gentle and elegant, but the energy around her body was sharp and perfectly controlled.
Unlike Veyrion, she didn’t look arrogant. Instead, she seemed focused as she quietly looked at Dahlia for a moment before speaking. "You really are strong."
Dahlia raised an eyebrow. "Oh?"
Seraphine’s wings opened slightly. "At first, I thought the rumors were exaggerated. But after watching your previous matches... you’re the real deal."
Dahlia’s grin slowly widened. "Hahaha! Not bad. At least you have good eyes."
Seraphine smiled faintly. "I do."
Dahlia lowered her arms and rolled her shoulders. "Then don’t make me bored."
The moment those words left her mouth, the wind around Seraphine suddenly changed.
Her calm expression remained, but her aura became much sharper. "That’s my line too."
For a brief moment, both women stared at each other silently. Then, the announcer’s voice echoed across the arena.
"Quarterfinals, second match!"
"Dahlia Draconia versus Seraphine Vale!"
The protective barrier rose, and the entire crowd held its breath and a moment later...
"Begin!"
---
The moment the match began, Seraphine moved first.
Her white wings spread wide, and her body immediately rose into the air.
WHOOSH!
In just one breath, she reached a height where Dahlia could not casually touch her.
Dahlia looked up and raised an eyebrow. "Oh? Flying right away?"
Seraphine’s calm voice echoed from above. "Against someone like you, staying on the ground would be foolish."
Then her wings flashed, and dozens of glowing feather-shaped energy blades appeared around her body.
[Feather Light Barrage]
SHING! SHING! SHING!
The feather blades rained down toward Dahlia from every direction.
Dahlia grinned and launched her fists toward the feather blade rain.
BOOM!
Her fist smashed the first wave apart.
Then she twisted her body and kicked another cluster away, but Seraphine didn’t stop.
She flew in fast circles above the arena, constantly changing direction while sending attacks from different angles.
And every time Dahlia tried to rush forward, Seraphine rose higher or moved away with smooth aerial control.
The crowd instantly grew excited.
"Seraphine is controlling the range!"
"She’s not letting Dahlia touch her!"
"That’s smart! Dahlia’s physical strength is terrifying, but she can’t hit what she can’t reach!"
Inside the private viewing room, Slifera nodded seriously. "This is exactly why Seraphine is dangerous. She doesn’t fight strength with strength."
Elisa added calmly, "She keeps perfect distance while forcing Dahlia to waste movement."
Garion rubbed his chin with interest. "A flying ranged fighter, huh..."
Back in the arena, another rain of feather blades struck down.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Dahlia shattered the attacks with her bare hands, but Seraphine continued circling above her like a white flash.
After several exchanges, Dahlia suddenly stopped moving, looked up, and clicked her tongue. "Damn, you’re annoying. Just like a mosquito."
The entire arena went quiet for half a second.
Seraphine’s calm expression froze. "...Mosquito?"
Dahlia nodded seriously. "Yeah. Flying around, poking from a distance, never coming down."
Then she grinned. "A very pretty mosquito, but still a mosquito."
The crowd immediately exploded with laughter and shock.
"She called Seraphine a mosquito?!"
"That’s too much!"
"Dahlia really says whatever she wants!"
Seraphine’s eyebrow twitched slightly.
For the first time since entering the arena, her calm aura cracked a little. "I see."
Her wings slowly spread wider, and the air around her became sharper and colder. "So that’s how you see me."
Dahlia grinned. "Don’t worry. I’ll swat you properly soon."
Seraphine’s eyes narrowed. "Then try."
The next instant, Seraphine’s wings flashed brighter as a massive storm of glowing feathers appeared above the arena.
This time, every feather blade carried far more power than before.
Dahlia looked up and smiled wider. "Oh?"
The massive storm of glowing feathers instantly descended.
SHING! SHING! SHING! SHING!
Countless feather blades rained down from above like a white waterfall of light, covering almost every part of the arena.
Dahlia looked up at the attack and grinned. "Feather storm, huh?"
Her silver-gray hair whipped wildly in the wind as the first wave of feather blades struck down.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Dahlia smashed several apart with her bare hands while dodging a few by twisting her body.
Still, some of the sharper feather blades managed to leave shallow cuts across her arms and shoulders.
But instead of getting angry, Dahlia’s grin only widened. "Not bad."
Then she slowly pulled one fist back. "But let me tell you something..."
A deep rumble suddenly echoed from above the arena.
Seraphine’s eyes narrowed slightly.
Dahlia’s aura began rising violently as black-blue sparks crackled around her fist. "I’m the ruler of the storm."
The moment she finished speaking, Dahlia slammed her fist upward.
BOOOOOOM!!!
A ball of violent lightning shot into the sky like a cannon.
The glowing ball exploded above the arena, and in the next instant, dark clouds began spreading across the protective barrier’s ceiling.
The crowd instantly gasped.
"She created a storm inside the arena?!"
"What kind of ability is that?!"
Seraphine’s expression finally changed.
The air around her, which she had been controlling so perfectly, suddenly became chaotic.
Wild wind currents twisted through the arena as countless rumbles of thunder echoed, followed by flashing streaks of black-blue lightning.
Dahlia looked up at Seraphine with a fierce grin and raised her hand. "A mosquito like you... let me swat you with thunder."
CRACKLE!
A black-blue lightning bolt suddenly dropped from the storm, aiming straight toward Seraphine.
She frowned and flashed her wings, dodging sideways and suddenly...
BOOOOM!!!
The lightning struck the arena floor, blasting open a crater.
Seraphine’s eyes widened slightly from the power of the strike.
Before she could fully stabilize herself, another bolt descended and soon other followed suit.
CRACK! CRACK! CRACK!
Lightning rained down from the storm, chasing Seraphine through the air.
Her white wings moved rapidly as she weaved between the thunderbolts, but the storm was no longer under her control.
For the first time, she was the one being forced to dodge.
Dahlia laughed loudly from below. "Hahaha! What’s wrong, pretty mosquito?"
Her eyes shone with wild disaster energy. "Fly faster!"
