Chapter 2540: Who Am I? An Old Man Everyone’s Forgotten!

Carson Flores received the token from Kaldren Stanford. After expressing his gratitude, he left the Valentine Family Pharmacy.

The reason Carson specifically sought out Kaldren Stanford for a recommendation letter was naturally to infiltrate the Valentine Family.

The Hidden God White Jade Stem was with the Aarav Family, and Carson had no connections to the Aarav Family, so it was impossible to obtain the Hidden God White Jade Stem. Lorvian Randall was also an enemy of the Aarav Family, so that was out of the question as well.

The Valentine and Aarav families were very close, practically like one family. Carson then thought about sneaking into the Valentine Family as an alchemist, hoping to find an opportunity to obtain the Hidden God White Jade Stem from the Aarav Family.

Although there is some risk, and it may not succeed, without trying, there will never be success!

If things go awry, he can flee. Even if caught, with his identity as a disciple of Floating Cloud, he probably wouldn’t face death.

Someone emerged from the shadows, looking in the direction Carson left, with a thoughtful expression.

That enigmatic woman was closely related to Rethor Simmons and Lorvian Randall. How did she become involved with the alchemist from the Valentine Family Pharmacy?

Could it be that this alchemist named Finnian Roth is secretly connected to Lorvian Randall?

Finnian Roth planned to take these two out of the Suffering Pray Sea?

The Black Robed Man flew up and pursued Carson Flores.

Once captured, interrogation should reveal the answer. Perhaps they know whether Lorvian Randall is still alive.

Half a day later, Carson was intercepted at sea.

Carson stared at the man blocking his way, surprised.

He actually recognized him!

Isn’t this the reticent middle-aged man who entered the Suffering Pray Sea with him?

Carson asked, "Who are you, sir, and why are you blocking my path?"

The middle-aged man responded, "Rethor Simmons and that woman, you took them away intending to leave?"

Carson was shocked. He had been cautious, yet this man knew?

It seems this man had been watching Niall Sinclair and Rethor Simmons, hence noticing their meeting with Carson and their entry into the Palace of Seven Beauties.

How did this man track them without Carson ever noticing?

Since this person accurately stopped him here, Carson knew he couldn’t talk his way out. He calmly replied, "Ulmar Simmons was here to find his daughter, having found no result after searching for so long, wanted to leave, and asked me for a lift. As for the woman, I don’t know who she is; she offered me a reward... Do they have any issues?"

The middle-aged man looked at Carson skeptically, "You’re not acquainted with them?"

Carson shook his head without hesitation, "I’m stationed as an alchemist at the Valentine Family Pharmacy, which many know. They approached me while I was out walking, asking me to take them away when I left. I’m not acquainted with them."

The middle-aged man smirked, "You probably can’t leave now. Turn them over and return with me. If you’re indeed uninvolved, considering the Valentine Family, you could be spared, but if you’re connected, sorry, then no one can save you."

Carson retorted, "I have the pharmacy manager’s recommendation from the Valentine Family. Would you risk offending the Valentine Family?"

The middle-aged man’s gaze mocked, "Ignorance. If you truly are connected, Kaldren Stanford would be the first to kill you!"

Carson suddenly asked, "Could you be from the Aarav Family?"

The middle-aged man’s face darkened further, "Indeed, there’s a problem. You seem unwilling to surrender; don’t blame me for being harsh then."

"Wait!"

Carson halted the middle-aged man about to strike and decisively said, "I’ll release them now."

Carson retrieved the Seven Ingenious Hall Command, releasing the Teleportation Gate, and soon, Halvyr Briggs stepped out from the Light Gate.

Halvyr Briggs glanced at the middle-aged man blocking the way, his eyes slightly narrowing, "It’s you?"

Carson asked in surprise, "Senior, this man tracks and obstructs; do you know him?"

Halvyr Briggs calmly replied, "He hunted Lorvian Randall. I caught a glimpse from afar and swiftly escaped."

The middle-aged man’s expression changed drastically, his eyes fixed on Halvyr Briggs filled with fear and dread.

Carson nodded, "Please, Senior, take action. This person is likely an Aarav Family assassin sent to obliterate threats. It could be troubling if he escapes."

Halvyr Briggs glanced at Carson and chuckled coldly, "He won’t escape!"

The middle-aged man clenched his teeth and asked, "Who are you?"

Halvyr Briggs smiled faintly, "An old fogey almost forgotten by people..."

"Halvyr Briggs!"

The middle-aged man’s face turned pale, "Are you the former Sect Hierarch Halvyr Briggs?"

Halvyr Briggs, with hands behind his back, calmly said, "Quite a quick reaction!"

The middle-aged man exclaimed fearfully, "You’re really still alive?"

Halvyr Briggs’s eyes flashed with cold: "Some wished for my death, but alas, I crawled back from hell!"

The middle-aged man’s expression changed. This single sentence contained numerous implications.

If this man crawled back from hell, what upheaval would occur next in the Sea God Sect?

This must be reported!

Just as the middle-aged man’s spiritual energy surged wildly, ready for a desperate struggle to relay this message, Halvyr Briggs suddenly spoke calmly, "Too late!"
