"Thank you, Grandma! Ian loves this little gold locket!" Ian said in a clear, bright voice.

Rose Kenway held Ian Shaw’s small hand and nodded repeatedly.

Ian looked up at Rose Kenway. He felt an immediate sense of closeness to her. His grandmother’s gaze was so gentle, her eyes overflowing with affection and doting love as she looked at him. It was a completely different look from the one his grandpa and grandma gave him.

Ian stood openly, letting Rose Kenway look him over and hold his small hand.

He looked down and saw Rose Kenway in her wheelchair, and his heart ached. "Grandma, do your legs hurt?" he asked. "Ian will definitely study hard and learn the skills to make your legs better!"

"Grandma, where were you before? Mommy and Ian missed you so much."
