Chapter 778 - 501: Beastman Extermination Order, Ghost Lord’s Bloody Battle!
Chapter 778 - 501: Beastman Extermination Order, Ghost Lord’s Bloody Battle!
With his current terrifying power at the Bronze Middle Rank, combined with the hundreds of Ice Remains Terrain Dragon Knights he had accumulated over this period, Fang Zhou had no need for teammates unless faced with a complex, trap-filled location like the Naraku Civilization’s mage tomb.
After registering with Instructor Lu Hu, Fang Zhou returned to the Undead Mage research group to begin his war preparations. From the various Simulation Battlefields during his apprenticeship to the Cave trials that selected Seed Students, and then winning the recruit competition in a single stroke, his experience was vast. This continued with expeditions and hunts in the Forest of Nature at the Black Iron Tier, and more recently, the hunt in the Fierce Beast Mountain Range. Over the past year and a half, Fang Zhou had experienced dozens, if not hundreds, of battles, making him thoroughly familiar with the pre-war preparation process.
After packing his belongings and engaging in some last-minute preparations with Instructor Su Xinyan, Fang Zhou joined the cohort of graduating students on another journey to Beast Fighting City.
...
Above the Wasteland of Strife, a Blood Moon hung high. Fang Zhou’s Undead Mage body was already in Beast Fighting City, preparing to head to the northern Beastman Desert. Meanwhile, his Clone remained seated in the Lord’s Hall, listening to Tidamia’s report.
Over the past one or two months, through relentless death-scouting missions, Fang Zhou had gained a comprehensive understanding of the strength and forces of the Ghost Lord near his territory. To his delight, this Ghost Lord’s strength was still at the Bronze Upper Rank, well within his capabilities. With his current Four-dimensional Attributes and racial Combat Power Coefficient, Fang Zhou was confident he could defeat any Undead of the same rank. This was true even if his opponent was an exceedingly rare Ghost Lord. After all, he was a Ghost Slayer, and his Soul Silence Brand skill had reached an instinctual level of mastery.
This Bronze Upper-Rank Ghost Lord’s forces were indeed formidable. He commanded a Ghost Guard of no fewer than 3,000 members, ranging from the Bronze Middle to Upper Ranks. Since arriving in the Wasteland of Strife, Fang Zhou had participated in many Blood Moon Lord wars, yet the number of Ghosts he had managed to kill or capture was minuscule. This Ghost Lord, however, commanded thousands of them. Despite being mentally prepared, the sheer number still shocked Fang Zhou.
But he soon understood why. According to the rules of the Wasteland of Strife, an Undead Lord possessed an extraordinary attraction and rallying power over Undead Creatures of the same type. It was likely for this reason that Ghosts from all over the surrounding area had voluntarily gathered under the Ghost Lord’s banner, becoming his Personal Guard. In contrast, a Zombie Lord like Fang Zhou found it nearly impossible to attract even a single Ghost.
Furthermore, this Ghost Lord also commanded an Undead Army of 200,000 Low-Tier Undead, composed of Skeleton Warriors, Zombies, and other types. Objectively speaking, this Ghost Lord commanded an incredibly powerful force. In terms of both quantity and quality, he was the most formidable Undead Lord Fang Zhou had yet encountered.
Unfortunately for him, even with such power, he would be no match for Fang Zhou and his Tombyard Undead Army. The enemy’s forces consisted of a Bronze Upper-Rank Ghost Lord, a 3,000-strong Ghost Guard of Bronze-Tier members, and a 200,000-strong Undead Army composed of Black Iron-Tier Undead. However, Fang Zhou’s Tombyard Undead Army had its own Corpse Knight Guard of 4,000 Bronze Upper-Rank Corpse Knights. His elite forces were composed of Corrupt Hatreds and Corpse Warriors, with a main force of numerous Black Iron-Tier Corpse Warriors, totaling 90,000 Tombyard Undead.
Although he was at an absolute disadvantage in numbers, the quality of Fang Zhou’s Tombyard Undead was enough to completely crush the opponent. After all, even the most common Upper-Rank Black Iron Corpse Warrior under his command had been enhanced by his Corpse Authority and infused with the essence of the Naraku Civilization’s unique Undead. Their individual combat capability was simply incomparable to that of ordinary Upper-Rank Black Iron Skeleton Warriors or Zombies.
Not to mention, for large-scale Legion warfare, Fang Zhou’s side boasted exceptionally skilled Commanders like Olaf and Tidamia. In terms of the art of War Command alone, they were far superior to the "country bumpkin" Undead Lords of the Undead Realm.
The most critical factor was the Soul Silence War Drum, one of the Undead War Machines Fang Zhou had developed. It could negate the Ghost Race’s immunity to physical attacks and strengthen his Tombyard Undead to an absurd degree. If the enemy Ghosts dared to attack from the air, relying on their flight advantage, they would be countered by his numerous Corpse Archers. And should they be so foolish as to attack from the ground, Fang Zhou’s Corpse Knight Guard would show them the true meaning of brutality.
Putting aside the strategic advantage granted by the thousands of Ghosts, in a direct confrontation between the 200,000 ordinary Undead and Fang Zhou’s 90,000-strong Tombyard Undead Army, Fang Zhou held the absolute upper hand. This assessment didn’t even factor in the high probability of Fang Zhou decapitating the enemy Ghost Lord in a single strike. Nor did it consider the strategic advantages brought by the Skeleton War Chariots and Skeleton Catapults he had developed.
After a comprehensive comparison of both sides’ strengths with Tidamia, Sain, Olaf, and his other advisors, Fang Zhou rose from the throne in the Lord’s Hall. He raised his Poisonous Skeleton Long Spear high and issued a powerful mental command in the direction of the Ghost Lord.
"All forces, attack!"
"As you command, my Lord."
Outside the Lord’s Hall, the waiting Corpse Knight Guard let out an earth-shaking roar. The 90,000-strong Tombyard Undead Army surged majestically toward the Ghost Lord’s territory.
